You will be picked up from Malaga airport and transported to the venue by one of our friendly drivers.  You will be staying in a very comfortable and luxurious boutique B & B with pool, amazing food and ensuite rooms.  There will be two yoga and mindfulness sessions per day along with plenty of time to relax by the pool or enjoy excursions to local villages and beaches.   You will return home with a renewed sense of vitality, a more peaceful mind and a healthier body.  And maybe a bottle of local olive oil!

 There are some lovely excursions, to moorish villages or local markets, villages and beaches.  But, if you want to read a book by the pool all day or wander off into the hills along paths lined with wildflowers, it's up to you.  This is a time to tune in to what you want and need.  There will be space for socialising with a glass of local wine and watching the moon come up over the mountains, but personal space will be respected too

Yoga and mindfulness classes will be offered every morning and evening on a terrace with inspiring views.  The morning class will be more dynamic and the evening class more meditative.  There will be a delicious mix of sun salutations, standing and sitting postures, breathing practises and deep relaxation.  I am a passionate practitioner and yoga nerd and  have studied many different types of yoga including ashtanga, yin, Bikram and Scaravelli.  I  always adapt postures and sequences to serve the group.

ABOUT MEL

I have been teaching yoga and mindfulness for 22 years and practising for 25 years.  I am passionate about bringing the joy of yoga and meditation into people’s lives.  I trained with the world’s leading experts in astanga yoga in London in the 1990s.  Since then I have done wonderful trainings with many of the leading contemporary practitioners like Sarah Powers, Donna Farhi and Simon Low.   I was trained as a dancer and have a BA in languages and two MAs; one in Creative Writing and Authorship and one in Drama and Movement Therapy.   I am also a coach/group facilitator in the private and public sector (with expertise in Transactional Analysis and Emotional Intelligence) and this is integrated into my yoga teaching and retreats.  As one of my students put it: ‘This is much more than yoga.’

I am a people gardener, a compassionate teacher who believes in bringing out the best in every student. Many students comment that my classes make them feel safe and comfortable and that they are surprised at how much they enjoy yoga when I am teaching!  My wide range of training and experience and long years of practise mean that I am sensitive to individual needs and have a huge tool-kit of techniques, resources and approaches.  My groups are very inclusive, supportive and relaxed and everybody has the space to grow and flourish.

Casa Colina is a beautiful boutique B & B in the mountains, 40 minutes drive from Malaga.  This stylish hideaway is a two hundred year old converted farmhouse in Axarquia, the most beautiful region of Andalucia.  It is extremely peaceful yet within easy reach of fascinating moorish villages and secluded beaches.  Casa Colina (meaning 'house on the hill')  has a lovely swimming pool, gorgeous en-suite rooms and stunning views from several terraces.  It is number 1 on TripAdvisor for this region and is owned and run by our good friends, the fabulous Paul and Niki.

AMAZING ANDALUCIAN CUISINE!

Food and drink is a very special part of the Lunar Lemon Experience.  Paul & Niki make their own olive oil, bread and lemon curd, prepare their own sun-dried tomatoes, preserve their own capers.  They gather eggs from on resident chickens and gather olives, figs, avocados, almonds from the groves all around. Every gourmet meal is prepared with great love and attention to detail.  All dietary requirements catered for.  Oh, and they also brew their own beer and have a fine selection of wines, gins and cocktails.  Every day you will be served a freshly prepared breakfast, tapas and salad lunch, and three course dinner with optional alcoholic drinks (extra charge).

This region has exceptional local produce.  All around are olive,lemon, orange, almond, fig. avocado and mango trees.  If you love good food, you are in for a treat! Paul is a great cook (his home-made lemon curd is a must) and Niki is a whizz with puddings, cakes and cocktails.  Paul and Niki are fantastic hosts and always on hand to find you fresh towels,snacks and drinks, to recommend a walk or discuss the best way to cook paella.  All meals are served on a big terrace with awesome views.

Extra Special Foodies Excursion! There will be optional excursions to explore the beautiful Axarquia region, including something rather special: The Taste of Andalucia Tour, developed by Paul.  Taste olive oil at a gorgeous farm, visit a 1,000 year old olive tree, see how honey is made, eat local tapas.

3 NIGHT RETREAT

Day 1: Arrivals in morning at Malaga airport.  Transfers arrived with local drivers. Welcome Meeting at 6pm followed by dinner.

Day 2: Morning Yoga.  Breakfast.  Massage (optional).  Lunch. Free time. Yoga and Mindfulness.  Dinner.

Day 3: Same as day 2

Day 4: Morning Yoga.  Breakfast. Transfers to airport.

5 NIGHT RETREAT

3 night retreat: £400

5 night retreat: £550

This price is in sterling per person for two adults sharing an ensuite room.  Flights not included.  Single occupancy may be available for a supplement. 

INCLUDED: Accommodation, 3 meals per day, bathroom and beach towels, daily housekeeping, two yoga & mindfulness sessions per day. 

EXCLUDED: Flights, Transfers (see below), extra meals, drinks and snacks, alcohol, massages and treatments, optional excursions.  (Individual tabs to be paid on the last day.)

Transfers:  Transfer from Malaga airport: £50 each way per car (max 4 people) in cash.  If you aim to arrive at Malaga airport mid/late morning on the first day and leave morning/early afternoon on the last day you will probably be able to share a transfer with other guests. Transfer time about 40 minutes.
